While I wrote three other novels over the last two years, GOOSE CREEK HOLLER was a deeply personal project I wanted to finish writing. It has taken years to get this story out to the public.

GOOSE CREEK HOLLER is a work of fiction, but as you go through the story and encounter a character named Chloe Richardson, that character is me. Nearly ten years ago, under cover of darkness, I flew into a tiny airstrip in the middle of nowhere to extract my middle-aged, intellectually disabled female cousin from an untenable situation in the back hills of Appalachia after her mother died. My friends all told me I needed to write something about that journey. That is a subplot in GOOSE CREEK HOLLER.
